The place: From an area with international recognition and with the most strict restrictions in the area of appellation of origin, D.O.Calificada.
The Ebro river is the birthplace of Tempranillo, from which this reserve wine is produced, from more than 30 year-old vines.
The winery is in Haro, in Rioja Alta and has at its disposal 50ha of old vineyards, with Tempranillo, Garnacha and Graciano.
The people: A new house, which has become now a classic name, among the pioneers of Rioja. Being the proprietors, the family Rotllans-Daurella lent their initials to name the wine. The pioneer school of Rioja is expressed here through the intense use of the oaken barrels, in which the wine is fermented. The winery opened its doors in 1991, while the next year the first harvest was on the market.
The wine: Its color is an intense red with violet tinges. A complex nose, with an intense fruit, with the small black fruit in liqueur prevailing, marmalade but also strokes of pepper. Well constructed in the mouth, elegant with excellent quality tannins, black chocolate, prunes, mint.
