For starters, the eatery has very little, if any, competition, in terms of location. Secondly, in terms of aesthetics, it is warm, welcoming, and beautiful. Then finally, and probably most importantly, the restaurant features the renowned chef Aris Tsanaklides, with a menu designed by the man himself.
Although the menu is known for its traditional dishes, each dish involves an interesting twist. Particular favorites include the slightly salty feta cheese mousse with small pieces of bread covered in sesame seeds, as well as the traditional sausages. The smoked eel with wild greens, lemon, and olive oil is another delight for the palate. Be sure to try the traditional sausages, and don’t forget Michali’s sauce with marinated tomatoes.
The visitors of Adrianou Street are magnetically attracted to the restaurant’s fine atmosphere, drawn in by the sumptuous aromas wafting through the evening air. The three story neoclassical building is beautifully decorated with its light colors and soft lighting. Moreover, the bar on the roof offers a stunning view of the temple of Ifestos, just 50 meters away, and the temple of Acropolis, just beyond.
Whether starting or ending the evening, the rooftop bar is the ideal place to grab a posh cocktail. But as the general environment seems to be best suited for warm breezes, clear nights, and spectacular sunsets, the Gourmed team recommends that you try out the restaurant in the summertime, rather than the winter.
