Mix well in a bowl the fresh butter with the fat, while pouring sugar, until the mix becomes white. Now add the egg, the soda diluted in Ouzo and continue mixing.
Put the mixture in a new bowl. Sprinkle the flour and baking powder and start kneading with your hands. When you’ve kneaded all ingredients well, take small pieces of the mixture in your hands and turn them into small ball in the size of a big walnut. Press them with your finger to widen them and place them on a baking pan. Bake them for 20-25 minutes in a preheated oven at 180C, until they turn reddish. While the Kourampiedes are baking, place a baking paper on the kitchen table and sprinkle castor sugar. As soon as you take the Kourampiedes out the oven place them with a spatula on the baking paper. Sprinkle more castor sugar over them until you completely cover them.
Leave them for about 15-20 minutes and then put them into I dish. Keep the castor sugar for your next Kourmampiedes
