Each needs about 20-25 minutes to prepare allowing you not only to impress with your hands, but also to enjoy the great tournament of men working wonders with their legs!
Aromatic pieces of bread with German smoked ham
For Two Persons
250gr of dough (ready made)
2 table spoons of sesame seeds
2 table spoons of aniseed (or other herb)
3 table spoons of grated Emendaler cheese
1 egg white
150gr of German smoked ham
Pickles
Knead the dough together with the aniseed and the cheese. Shape the dough into small balls and place them in a round baking tin one next to the other. Beat the egg white with two table spoons of water and brush over the bread. Sprinkle sesame seeds. Bake the bread in a medium heat oven at 180 degrees for about 20 minutes. Place the pieces of bread around a dish and the smoked ham in the center. Serve with pickles.
Pastry baskets with Frankfurt sausages and mushrooms
For Two Persons
2 sheets of thin pastry
Olive oil
1 leek
2 Frankfurt sausages
150gr of mushrooms (canned)
100gr German Gouda cheese
3 table spoons of brandy
2 table spoons of butter
2 table spoons of parsley
1 tooth of garlic – finely chopped
Salt and Pepper
Cut the sheets of thin pastry into four and brush them over with olive oil. Place two pieces one on top of the other in four separate small baking tins (or in a muffin tin).
Chop up the leek and strain the mushrooms. Melt the butter in a frying pan and lightly saute the mushrooms, leeks, sliced sausages and garlic. Stir in the brandy. Remove from heat as soon as the brandy has evaporated and add salt and pepper. Top with chopped parsley.
Fill the small baking tins with the mixture, share the cheese among the four and cover with the remaining two sheets of thin pastry. Bake in a medium heat oven at 180 degrees for about 20 minutes.
