Mediterranean Tomato sauce recipe

Ingredients

15 gr olive oil 
200 gr. onions cut in thin slices 
15 gr. garlic sliced
50 gr tomato paste 
500 gr. whole plum tomatoes from a can 
20 basil leaves 
salt and pepper
 

Procedure

In a large pan heat the olive oil and saute the onions in low temperature until well cooked.
Add the garlic and after five minutes the tomato paste. In one more minute we add the tomatoes, salt and pepper to taste and once the mixture boils, turn down to minimum and cook for about an hour. Puit in the basil and cook for 5 minutes more.
